Our integrated Postfix policy server allows MPP to make pre-queue decisions on email handling. MPP can immediately disconnect hosts that are violating your policies thus saving you bandwidth and resources.

MPP includes the only integrated pre and post-queue filter for Postfix since we include both a Postfix Policy Server and a content filter. Both elements have an integrated configuration and communicate with each other to intelligently decide if a message should be processed before or after it is queued.

The following features are handled by the Policy Server.

Manual Blacklists
Email is rejected before if it is queued. Whether SMTP hosts are being blacklisted or email addresses MPP will immediately disconnect offending senders.

Automatic Blacklists
MPP has the unique ability to automatically black list hosts that violate your thresholds for message sending rates, spam rates, bad address attempts or content violations. MPP issues an immediate disconnect to hosts that violate your connection policies.

Address Verification with Auto Black List Abilities
MPP will query your address directory to verify the validity of addresses. Of course Postfix offers this but MPP goes beyond by offering per-domain configuration, flexible address storage and the ability to automatically block hosts that repeatedly send to unknown addresses.

Rate Limiting
MPP can issue defers to hosts that violate your policies thus rate limiting hosts.

Greylisting
Our policy server offers SQL based greylisting. Since MPP stores host entries in an SQL database multiple MPP front-ends can share the same greylist database.

The MPP Policy Engine (MPE) is the key to MPP’s flexibility. It separates MPP from the monotony of email security products by giving you the power to create distinct configurations based on domain, email address, email direction or CIDR IP address.

Service providers utilize our policy engine to offer self-provisioned service classes. For example, a service provider may offer email archival, standard virus and spam scanning and business class spam and virus filtering. With MPE, if the user selects a new class of service all that needs to happen to immediately provision the service is to update your subscriber LDAP directory with the new service selection and MPP does the rest.

Other uses for MPE are to create archival profiles for groups of users, select different scanners for different user groups, create different surveillance or content filtering policies for user groups or more.

The possibilities are unlimited, and that’s the true power MPP.
