Now one command will install the most comprehensive antispam and email archive solution available for Ubuntu and Debian Linux systems. This install will add all components necessary to run and manage Mailspect Email Defense and Archive and the GUI Manager.

We have updated our VMware virtual appliance to an OVF format as well as updating all application components to latest and greatest. We need some feedback on VMWare ESXi systems so please give it a shot if this applies to you. The Mailspect virtual appliance for VMWare archives important email in a web accessible, searchable format, protects email from spam, viruses and other malware and more.

Seems like Ubuntu is taking over our customer base by storm. Also turns out that apt is great technology so we are pleased to offer a new apt repository to install Mailspect Defense and Mailspect Archive on Ubuntu and Debian servers. Fighting spam and creating email archives has never been simpler on Ubuntu thanks to us!

This is still in testing phase so please don’t be shy about feedback.

Here’s how to install mppd using apt-get.

We need some testers to help us test a new OVF format VMWare appliance, especially if you have ESXi. Please let us know if you can help us test our updated VMWare virtual appliance for spam filtering, email defense and email archive.

We have added two new major improvements in Mailspect Manager.

1) Import has been greatly improved so that domain administrators can set up their own parameters and they are stored. Admins can also set up global parameters for database and journal accounts since this information is usually unknown by a domain administrator. This makes Mailspect Manager (see, I’m not saying MPP Manager) much more suitable in multi-domain customer-facing email archive applications.

The entire import configuration module has been completely overhauled so please check it out if this is important to you.

2) We have added the ability to remove the spam quarantine or archive menu options in that case that one or the other is not in use.
